  31.  i'm currently using a 14.4 DataFax modem on my Mac, the modem came from
  32. Trust Corp,and is a dos one. I never had problems with it, i simply bought
  33. a separate cable to hook it up on my machine, 'cause it shipped with dos
  34. cable.

  36. Now i'm considering to move to a 28.8 one, but i've heard that are now
  37. available modems that support voice transmission (DSVD or something like
  38. that).
  39. The matter is that i can have access to a dos DSVD modem at a vary
  40. affordable price, i already have the cable and i was wondering if it can
  41. work on my mac.
  42. Does this kind of modem need a particular software to use the voice
  43. transm, or the task is accomplished by the hardware, like a microphone
  44. plugged into it?

  47. appreciate some help.
  48. Since i have a Mac i could not use the DSVD feature if it requires a
  49. software, unless i buy the mac version of the modem.
  50. Otherwise, if this feature is activated by a direct AT command, i can put
  51. it in the init string of the modem.
